s-Hertogenbosch, often also called Den Bosch, is the capital of North Brabant. A historic city with a long history was built as a fortress surrounded by canals. In addition to valuable monuments, it can also boast of ties with the famous painter Hieronim Bosch.

The Old Town in Den Bosch is centered around the Market Square and has regular, geometric buildings. It is home to a Gothic Town Hall and the oldest brick house in the Netherlands, de Moorian, built in the 13th century. The most important monument in the city, the Gothic Cathedral of Saint John, comes from the same period.

Among the medieval and renaissance buildings of the Old Town there is a neo-Gothic building housing the House of the Swan Brothers Museum. This society was established in the 15th century to protect the city's cultural heritage. You can also see many nice tenement houses on Korte Put Street, which was once inhabited by craftsmen.

The s-Hertogenbosch center corresponds to the area of the former fortress built between the 15th and 17th centuries. The citadel, the former Kruithuis / Stok powder magazine and a large part of the walls and forts, including the Pettelaarse Schans, where the park is located, have been preserved to this day.

The most famous figure associated with the city is the painter and cartoonist Hieronymus Bosch. His nickname was derived from the name Den Bosch, and his real name is known today only to art historians. There is a Hieronymus Bosch Monument in the square, and the master's works in the form of high-quality large photographs can be seen at the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center.

s-Hertogenbosch is also known from other museums. The most important is the Noordbrabants Museum, which presents the history and culture of the region. In turn, in the Museum of St. John, you can see the architectural elements collected during the conservation work in the cathedral. There is also the Den Bosch Design Museum and the Slager Museum with a collection of 19th and 20th century paintings. The National Carnival Museum can boast of very interesting collections, inspired by the centuries-old tradition of carnival parties in s-Hertogenbosch.
