Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park
Local name: Nationaal Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen
A 3,500-hectare nature reserve was established to protect dune areas, known as the Brabant Sahara. Visiting is facilitated by paved roads with stops for caravans and bicycle paths. The dunes began to expand rapidly in the Middle Ages as a result of cutting down pine forests.
