The Noordbrabants Museum
Local name: Het Noordbrabants Museum
Het Noordbrabants Museum 's-Hertogenbosch presents the history, culture and art of Barbania. The museum has an impressive collection of paintings from 1500-1800, among which are the works of Pieter Brueghel, Theodoor Van Thulden and Ambrosius Bosschaert. However, the greatest fame ensured him the works of Vincent van Gogh.
The museum has a whole series of paintings by Van Gogh from the artist's stay in Brabant. The last purchase was the "Presbytery Garden in Nuenen" - work from 1885, the last watercolor created by Van Gogh in Nuenen. The museum also offers a bicycle route leading through the places that van Gogh visited or depicted in his paintings.
The museum's total exhibition area is nearly 4,000 m2. In the permanent exhibition, apart from great works of classical painting, there are also the achievements of contemporary artists - Jan Sluijter, JCJ Vanderheyden, Marek Manders and Jan Fabre.
