Design Museum Den Bosch
Local name: Design Museum Den Bosch
Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch (SM) is a museum of modern art, presenting mainly contemporary visual art and design. This place specializes especially in ceramics and jewelry. This is one of the most important institutions in the Netherlands, which collects and presents the work of national jewelry designers. The museum manages the collection created by Yvonne Joris, numbering about 1500 pieces of jewelry. It covers the period from 1945 to the present.
The history of the museum began in 1956, when the then Royal Academy of Arts and Design in 's-Hertogenbosch organized its first international exhibition. At that time, work began on the construction of a ceramics collection and the Municipal Exhibition Service was founded. The status of the Museum of Contemporary Art was adopted in 1985. The process of professionalization has been dated since. Lectures, lectures and guided tours are organized here.
