Archeon Museum Park
Local name: Archeon Museumpark
Archeon Alphen is a theme park, a kind of living archaeological village, in which settlements and buildings from various historical periods were reconstructed - prehistory, the Roman period and the Middle Ages. The furnishings of the facilities are both restored and partly historical. Staying in individual zones, visitors can not only learn about everyday life in past eras, but also try their hand at traditional crafts.
The Middle Ages is a trip to the fourteenth-century Gravendam. In the homes of craftsmen (carpenter, baker or blacksmith) we will learn how to produce the most necessary products and goods for life. Being here you can make a felt ornament or try your hand at archery. In turn, in the Roman city, visitors can visit a bathhouse, temple or inn for legionnaires. Roman drills and massages await those willing.
Archeon Alphen is known for many historical festivals taking place here. Numerous brotherhoods and reconstruction groups come to them, trade in weapons, costumes and traditional specialties of the old kitchen is developing.
