Cheb is a historic town with a preserved medieval square with a group of merchant houses and one of the oldest Czech castles. Albrecht Wallenstein, one of the main commanders in the Thirty Years' War, was murdered in this city.

The city is located on the Czech-German border and has been an important strategic point since its inception in the 11th century. In the mid-12th century, Frederick Barbarossa ordered the Cheb Castle to be built here, which is the only example of a palladium building in Bohemia, combining the function of the seat of the emperor and a religious facility. There is a Black Tower from the 12th century and a two-story chapel of St. Erhard and Elizabeth.

The Old Town of Cheb has kept its medieval layout. There is a complex of 11 burgher houses called Špalíček by the square. Some of them were built in the half-timbered system. On the other hand, the baroque tenement house No. 3, called the Pachelben House, is the place where Albrecht Wallenstein was murdered. The towers of the Gothic church of St. Nicholas and Elizabeth.

There are also museums among Cheb's attractions. These include Museum in Cheb presenting collections about the history of the city and the surrounding area, Gallery of Fine Arts and Retro Museum Cheb, where you can go back to the times of Czechoslovakia for a moment.
