The regional museum in the town of Cheb was founded in 1874. In addition to memorabilia related to the city's history, there is an extensive exhibition dedicated to Albrecht Wallenstein. You can see his personal items, travel bags, saddle, bag and even a stuffed horse.
The museum is housed in a former bourgeois house. On February 25, 1634, Albrecht Wallenstein was murdered in this house. For this reason, there is one of the largest exhibitions in the world dedicated to his character. On the sightseeing route there is a room where the commander died. There are also his spurs, belt, and documents signed by him. Wallenstein's horse is the oldest stuffed animal in the Czech Republic.
In addition to the exhibition focused on the person of Wallenstein, the Museum also has extensive art collections. You can see, among others, carved Gothic and Baroque altars, beaded embroidered cope cover for the altar, examples of secular religious painting and handicrafts.
