Sheffield is one of the largest cities in England. In the past it was an important industrial center that today changes its face towards an academic and research-related city. Due to their past, 18th and 19th century buildings dominate here, and those related to industry stand out among museums.

Although Sheffield already existed in the Middle Ages, only individual monuments from this period have survived to this day. Old, gothic walls are visible, among others, in the cathedral part and in the remains of Beauchief Abbey on the outskirts of the city. The center is built-up with neoclassical, eclectic and neo-Gothic buildings characteristic of English cities during the Industrial Revolution.

Due to the city's past in Sheffield, you can visit two industry museums. These are Abbeydale Industrial Halmet and Sheperds Wheel. Located in former factories and power plants. One of the city's latest attractions is the Winter Garden built at the beginning of the 21st century, one of the largest greenhouses in the UK, where you can see plants from the tropical zone.
