Chatsworth House and Garden
Chatsworth House is a park and palace complex from the sixteenth century belonging to the princes of Devonshire for generations. There is one of the largest private art collections in the British Isles, including paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt and Titian. There are 30 chambers open to the public. In the extensive gardens you can see, among others numerous fountains, a greenhouse, a hedge maze and temples in a classic style.
The original fountains draw attention. One, cascading, consists of a small temple from which water flows, and 24 degrees of varying texture and size. Water flowing through them makes different sounds on each of them. Another fountain was in turn created in the shape of a willow, from which water flows down.
Many cultural events and workshops take place in the castle. Over a dozen films were made here, including: Duma and Prejudice (2005), Princess (2008) and Wilkołak (2009).
