Tatton Park

Tatton Park is a mansion with a neoclassical mansion, extensive landscaped gardens, a deer park and an old medieval mansion. The latter is a wooden building with brick filling and thatched roofs, surrounded by a wall. The newer residence dates back to the 18th century. It houses a large collection of paintings, including works by Canaletto, Poussin and Van Dyck. The library has the first editions of two Jane Austen novels. In the park adjacent to the manors, there are three 19th-century lodges. The park itself is also open to the public.

There are gardens next to the residence, where you can distinguish, among others labyrinth, ornamental hedges and rose garden. There is also an arboretum with 880 plants from 281 species and the so-called Japanese Garden founded in 1910. There is a tea house, a Shinto shrine and a decorative bridge, as well as a mound modeled on Mount Fuji. The garden was neglected for many years, but at the beginning of the 21st century it was fully renovated.
