Trojanovice is a place that is an excellent starting point to Mount Radhost, where stands the Chapel of St. Cyril and Methodius. There are also many hiking trails in its vicinity.
The main attraction of Trojanovice is Mount Radhost, 1129 m above sea level. In pre-Christian times, a statue of the god Radegast was supposed to stand on its peak. Rites on the occasion of the summer solstice and thanks for good crops were held here. According to accounts, the statue was overthrown by St. Cyril and Methodius and put a cross in his place.
In the 19th century, a chapel of the Apostles of the Slavs was erected on the hill, and next to it the Monument of Cyril and Methodius. Today it is the most important attraction of Trojanovice and a place very important for Czech history.
The surroundings of Trojanovice are perfect for mountain hiking. Apart from Radhost, you can also go to Mount Noříčí and Velky Javornik. From the Pustevny hill, which can be reached by cable car, there is a nice view of the surroundings. The Cyrilka lookout tower is also a good place to observe distant views.
