Nowe Miasto nad Metují is a small, historic and tourist town on the Polish-Czech border. There is an original castle with decorations and decorations in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, and the surroundings are conducive to active tourism.

The city can be a good starting point for trips, among others to Adrspasskoteplice Rock Town and Broumov Sten. They are also eagerly visited by lovers of canoeing. The nearby Metuja river creates perfect conditions for canoeing. The river is swift and requires some experience in mountainous waters.

The biggest attraction and the most important monument of the New Town is Nové Město nad Metují Castle. It was built shortly after the center was founded in the early 16th century. It was rebuilt many times and it was transferred to the Barton family at the beginning of the 20th century. They hired architect Dusan Jurkovic, who designed the Castle Gardens with Jurank's viewing terrace and managed the reconstruction of the building. Original interiors with decorations and furnishings in Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were created, which can still be seen today.

In addition to the castle in the New Town, there is also a market square surrounded by Renaissance tenement houses. You can also see the late Gothic Church of the Holy Trinity, rebuilt in later centuries. The City Museum has interesting exhibits on the city's history, including a reconstructed historic pharmacy, an exhibition of clocks, and a huge, carved Christmas nativity scene.
