Gabrovo is the geographical center of Bulgaria and a city known for its unusual Museum of Humor and Satire. For Bulgarians, it is also the place where the first secular school in the country was established and where the development of Bulgarian industry began.

The city is picturesquely situated at the foot of Stara Planina. On its outskirts, there is a picturesque Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Ethn, presenting the life of the former Bulgarian village. In addition to the buildings themselves, there are still operating craft workshops, in which folk artists produce goods for sale.

Among the most important attractions of Gabrovo is the Museum of Humor and Satire. The city was filled with numerous anecdotes due to the proverbial greed of its inhabitants. Its symbol is a cat without a tail. Apparently, the townspeople, when letting animals into the house, close the door so quickly not to let out the heat that they strip their tails.

Other famous places in Gabrovo include the National Museum of Education in memory of Bulgaria's first school and the Interactive Museum of Industry, where you can trace its development from the mid-19th century to the present day.

There are also many monuments in Gabrovo, among which the most important are churches, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Sokolski Monastery of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
