Mellieħa is a resort on the northwest coast of Malta near the ferry to Gozo and Comino. There is the largest sandy beach on the island, and in the area many old fortifications and defensive towers built by the Knights of St. John have been preserved.

The village developed from a small fishing village and, despite the influx of tourists, retained its idyllic appearance and character. There are no large hotels or apartment buildings known from other Maltese resorts. Family-run guesthouses with traditional architecture, small pubs and shops predominate.

Thanks to the nearby crossing to Gozo and Comino, Mellieħa is a great base for people who want to explore all three Maltese islands. There is a small fishing port in the town itself, and colorful boats sway on the water.

Mellieħa boasts Malta's largest sandy beach called Ghadira. It is very well developed and equipped with beach equipment and water equipment rentals. There are 2 wrecks sunk by the shore that are the target of diving trips.

The surroundings of Mellieħa were strengthened during the rule of the Order of St. John. Here you can see several towers and small, square forts. The Popeye Village theme park is also an attraction.
