The largest sandy beach on Gozo. It is covered with sand of a red shade, and steep scrapers overgrown with Mediterranean vegetation rise above the water. According to mythology, the nymph Calypso was supposed to live in caves on the slope, where Odysseus hid. The cave and its long corridors are today a tourist attraction. The beach is undeveloped, but there are several bars above the parking lot.
