NOVINY POD RALSKEM tourist attractions

+1 attraction

Noviny pod Ralskem is a small town situated in a mountainous area. Many traditional, two-story frame houses have been preserved here, and the attraction of the area is the gorge of the Ploucnice River with an artificial tunnel.

In the past, iron ore was mined in the Novin area. They were melted down on the spot. There was also a small forge powered by the power of the Ploucnice River. The plant was located below the Ploučnice Gorge, currently the biggest attraction in Novin pod Ralsk. In order to bring water to the drive wheel, an adit was punched through the rocks of the gorge. It has survived to this day, and a picturesque lake was created at its outlet.

The Ploučnice gorge is often visited by tourists. You can go through it on foot using the former tunnel, where you often go up to your knees in the water. Behind the ravine, on the lake, you can go canoeing, and rafting is also possible further down the river.

Today's Noviny pod Ralskiem is primarily a tourist destination. There are guest houses and agritourism farms in historic houses, and the area is focused on the development of active tourism.
