Rock Castle and Sloup Hermitage
Local name: Skalní hrad a poustevna Sloup
The Sloup rock castle and hermitage is extremely picturesque, attracting the remains of a medieval fortress. You can visit the rock-hewn rooms, dungeons and undergrounds, as well as the chapel from 1693 and three artificial caves. The most interesting monuments include: a replica of the original hermit sculpture and a sundial by Václav Rincholin. The observation deck offers a beautiful panorama of the Lusatian Mountains.
Tourists visiting this place in the summer have the opportunity to take part in cyclical concerts and occasional shows of historical fencing. You can also see the exhibitions "Folk Art in Sandstone" and "Hermits in the North of Bohemia". When visiting the Sloup Rock Castle it is also worth visiting the nearby Samuel Cave.
