Lacco Ameno is a small town in Ischia. It has nice buildings, a picturesque location and beautiful sandy beaches. Its hallmark is the Negombo Thermal Garden with its numerous swimming pools.
Although Lacco Ameno is one of the smaller resorts on the island, due to its location and numerous leisure opportunities, it is often visited by tourists. The busiest part of the town is Port di Marina di Lacco Ameno with the pier and the adjacent promenade. This is where the most restaurants and bars are located, and the nightlife goes on until late hours. The promenade full of shops and workshops with handicrafts is also a popular place among tourists.
There are two popular beaches in Lacco Ameno, Il Fungo Beach, named after the Mushroom rock that rises from the waters of the bay, and San Montano beach. Both are sandy and very well developed. Along the San Montano beach is Lacco Ameno's biggest attraction, the Negombo Thermal Garden. There are 12 thermal pools with water of different temperatures, saunas and recreational facilities.
