Archaeological Park of Pompeii

Pompeii is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Italy. The ruins of the city destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius are inscribed on the UNESCO list and are visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

Ancient Pompeii disappeared from the face of the earth in 79. They were welded by a thick layer of volcanic ash that killed the inhabitants. Not only the ruins of houses and public buildings have survived here, but also beautiful mosaics that show the lives of residents before the disaster.
