The monumental Royal Palace of the Bourbon family, which ruled Naples in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Baroque building faces the main facade towards Piazza del Plebiscito, and at its back there is a more intimate courtyard surrounded by the wings of the building. The palace is connected by a covered passage and colonnade to the San Carlo Theater. Inside there is a museum, several state institutions and a library.
