Sitges is an intimate resort on the Costa Brava, but at the same time well-known for its entertainment. In its immediate vicinity there are as many as 17 larger and smaller, mainly sandy beaches. Lush nightlife, good cuisine and a historic center from the Middle Ages complete the picture of a perfect holiday destination.

The origins of Sitges date back to the Middle Ages. There was a fishing settlement and a small port here. The most important monument is the 14th century Church of Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla, which owes its present appearance to the Baroque reconstruction.

The popularity of the town as a seaside resort began in the 19th century when painters and poets started to come here, and Sitges became a place of rest for Barcelona's bohemia. Today it is reminded of, among others Can Llopis Museum of Romanticism. In turn, the Maricel Museum and the Cau Ferrat Museum show how the elements of equipment, decorations and ornamentation of local houses and guesthouses have changed. A very interesting museum is Casa Bacardí Sitges, where you can see how the famous drink is made and take part in workshops on creating drinks based on it.

However, Sitges is primarily beaches. Some, such as San Sebastian Beach, Castelldefels Beach and Sitges Beach, are well developed and offer a wide range of additional services and attractions. Others, such as l'Estanyol Beach, Gossos Sitges Beach, Plaza Cala Morisca, Muerto Beach and Cala Vallcarca Beach are wild and secluded. Here you can find many secluded places and relax away from the crowds.

Important points on the entertainment map of the city are Port Ginesta and Port Sitges-Aiguadolc. There are plenty of bars and entertainment areas around the quays, open until late at night.
