San Lawrenz is a village on one of the most attractive parts of the Gozo coast. There are steep cliffs and magnificent rock formations here. Until 2017, this area was home to the famous Blue Window, one of the most famous rock arches in the world, which unfortunately collapsed.
The town is focused mainly on serving tourists. In its center there are many buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries with a church and nice tenement houses. There are numerous restaurants and bars. Within San Lawrenz is the Dwejra Bay Reserve with its stunning cliffs.
The amazing rock formations and grottos are the great attractions of San Lawrenz and its coast. They include Fungus Rock standing in the waters of Dwejra Bay, as well as the famous Blue Grotto. From the town you can go on a boat trip to the Blue Grotto. San Lawrenz is also popular with divers, who have one of the most famous spots off the coast of the Maltese islands, the Blue Hole.
