Gharb is a village and administrative district in Gozo, known primarily for one of Malta's most important Marian shrines, the Ta 'Pinu Church.
The town was founded in the 17th century, and a lot of historic houses with thick limestone walls have been preserved in its center. In the center stands the baroque church in Gharb, a basilica with a beautiful baroque facade. Visiting Gharb is quite short due to the small size of the town.
The town, although small, is eagerly visited by tourists and pilgrims. All this thanks to the Ta 'Pinu church located among the fields. It is a magnificent building from the beginning of the 20th century on the site of an earlier, 16th-century chapel. There is a miraculous image of the Mother of God. In the church, you can see many votive gifts from miraculously healed people. There are also several other chapels scattered around the village, including the San Dimitri Chapel and the Madonna Taż-Żejt Chapel.
