Lecco is a city on Lake Como. It has a beautiful location at the foot of the mountains, which together with the lake waters create perfect conditions for relaxation and active tourism.

Its location on the edge of Lake Como makes Lecco a great base for exploring its shores. This can be done in many ways. A winding, scenic road runs around the lake, which can be overcome by car or bus. Regular passenger ferries and excursion boats also operate on its waters. Their largest operator is Gestione Navigazione Laghi Italia. Thanks to the ferries, you can get to know many towns on the shores. Ferries run on a scheduled basis, allowing you to plan a day trip around the area.

The second important attraction of Lecco are the surrounding mountains belonging to the Bergamic Alps. Their highest peaks exceed 3 thousand. m above sea level, but those above the city itself are over 1000 m lower. The most famous among tourists Resegone, which is a great vantage point, can be reached by a cable car from the neighboring town of Versasio. There are many hiking trails of varying difficulty in the surrounding mountains. It is also a famous climbing region with many, sometimes very demanding, paths accessible only to experienced climbers.

The city itself has a well-preserved historic center, adjacent to the lake shore and the nearby marina. There are tenement houses, narrow, cobbled streets and plenty of restaurants and bars. The most famous monuments of the city include the Torre Viscontea tower, which is a remnant of the old fortifications, and the Basilica of St. Nicholas.
