The Sforza Castle Castello Sforzesco is located in the center of Milan. The castle was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza for the residence of the Sforzów family. In its history, it has undergone many conversions and enlargements. In the 16th and 17th centuries it was one of the largest citadels in Europe. In the years 1945–1956 it was restored after being damaged during World War II. At the same time, the building was adapted for museum exhibitions.
