The Porta Ticinese Gate is located on one of the oldest streets in Milan - Corso di Porta Ticinese. The gate dates from the 12th century and is a remnant of the defensive walls. It was modernized in the nineteenth century according to the design of Camilla Boito, which separated the preserved structure from subsequent accretions while modernizing its structure and complementing the missing decorative elements.
In the 16th century, he lived and ran his artistic studio Leonardo da Vinci at Corso di Porta Ticinese.
Currently, Porta Ticinese is a street often visited by tourists. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops.
