The lake is the third largest in Italy and the deepest in the Alps - in the deepest place it measures 425 m. In the summer there are bathing beaches, it is also a good place for windsurfing and kitesurfing. On the lake there is an island on which you can see the ruins of a settlement from the 12th century.
