Waging am See is a tourist and climatic health resort. The lake Waginger, which is a center for water sports and a popular bathing area, is nearby.
The town was founded in the Middle Ages, and the first mentions of it come from the 8th century. It was primarily a commercial center, and the traditions of the weekly agricultural market are continued here to this day.
Currently, it is primarily a holiday resort with a nicely restored historic center. There are historic tenement houses and churches of St. Anna and St. Martin. At present, atmospheric guesthouses and restaurants operate in many historic houses.
The biggest attraction of Waging am See is the Waginger lake. It is one of the warmest lakes in Bavaria, and its water temperature reaches 27 degrees Celsius. In summer, there is a swimming pool, beach and recreational areas. You can also rent kayaks, pedal boats and boats. Additional opportunities for spending time are trips to the picturesque, hilly surroundings and walks on the shores of the lake.
