Erding is a small city with a long history and not many monuments due to the massive destruction of World War II. However, it is known throughout Germany for one of the country's largest water parks and a complex of water slides, one of the longest in the world.
Little is left of the historic buildings of Erding, the city founded in the first half of the 13th century. Around the square you can see some historic tenement houses, next to it there is a gothic church and a belfry covered with a domed cupola. The restored center has many restaurants and cafés, and is a nice place to stroll.
However, what draws most tourists to Erding is its modern day attraction, the Galaxy Erding. It is one of the largest and most famous German water parks. In addition to the swimming pool with a tropical environment imitating a warm sea, a complex of saunas and wellness rooms, there are also 26 water slides with a total length of over 2.5 km. Among them are one of the longest such devices in the world, on which competitions in sliding are played.
