Métabief is a mountain village and a center for skiing and active tourism. In winter, there are approx. 200 km of slopes in the area, and in summer you can go hiking, cycling, rafting on mountain rivers and paragliding.
The town belongs to the union of the six villages that control the Métabief-Mont-d'Or ski area. There are downhill runs, cross-country ski runs, and several areas for snowboarding and fun in the snow.
The surroundings of Métabief are very scenic. Although the closest mountains are not the highest, there are great conditions for skiing and other outdoor activities. In the distance, there are much higher alpine peaks, which add charm to the area. In summer, more than 300 km of hiking trails await tourists, and cyclists can use the valleys and typical mountain routes. Their parts are used to host championship competitions in mountain biking. The swift rivers flowing in the area are perfect for rafting, and good wind conditions are favorable for paragliders.
