Swiss Vapeur Park
Local name: Swiss Vapeur Parc
Swiss Vapeur Parc is a Swiss steam railway park located on the shores of Lake Geneva. Models of 1: 3 scale locomotives (all with real steam engines) as well as replicas of railway buildings and Swiss monuments are presented here. Small trains have been adapted to transport tourists.
You can see replicas of famous locomotives, such as the historic Pacific 01. Models of steamers, i.e. ships equipped with steam turbines, float on the lake's waters. Every year, the International Steam Locomotive Festival takes place in the park, which attracts steam rail enthusiasts from around the world.
The park was opened in 1989. Initially, its area was 9,000 m², in 2007 the park was expanded, today it occupies 17,000 m². The number of riding models also increased from 2 to 9.
