Pâquis baths
Local name: Bains des Pâquis
The Bains des Pâquis in Geneva are public baths with a beach, swimming pool and a diving tower. There is also a pier and places for summer recreation. Turkish baths are open all year round, guests can also enjoy shiatsu massage, in winter a Finnish sauna is open for them.
Nearby there is a restaurant where you can have lunch with a beautiful view of the lake. In the summer months, concerts are organized here daily.
The first wooden baths were built here in the 1870s. In 1932, a new building, very modern for those times, was erected, the engineer Louis Arnichard and architect Henry Roche were responsible for its design.
When the project for the reconstruction of the bathhouse appeared in the 80s, residents of the city protested, a referendum was held in which the project was rejected. A committee was formed at the time, which I am looking after today.
