Neum is the only Bosnian resort on the Adriatic Sea and a very popular summer vacation destination. It consists primarily of hotels and guesthouses situated terraced above narrow pebble beaches.
Neum was founded in the 17th century and was a fishing and commercial settlement. Currently, it mainly fulfills recreational functions. It is located on a narrow stretch of the coast belonging to Bosnia and Herzegovina and limited to the north and south by the territory of Croatia.
