Tulln on the Danube is a small town known as the birthplace of painter Egon Schiele. Known as the city of flowers, thanks to its numerous parks, it is the final port for excursion ships from Vienna.

The city has Roman roots, as reminded by the Roman Museum, which collects archaeological relics. It is also the place where, according to the legend of the Nibelungen, Atylla met Kriemhilda, i.e. Gudrun. This mythical event is commemorated by the fountain and the Nibelungen Monument, which are among the greatest attractions of Tulln on the Danube.

The most famous figure associated with the city was the avant-garde and controversial painter Egon Schiele, who was born here in 1890. In the former city prison there is the Egon Schiele Museum presenting his works and souvenirs. The cell from the Neulengbach prison was also reconstructed here, in which he spent a few days in 1912 accused of indecency and promoting pornography.

When visiting Tulln on the Danube, it is also worth visiting the former Minorite monastery. Currently, the monastery buildings are used by the local museum, but the Minorta Church still has sacred functions. Magnificently restored, it is a perfect example of mature baroque. Within it there are, among others Loreto house and reconstruction of the House of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

The nickname of the city of flowers, which is often given to Tulln on the Danube, is not accidental. There are several parks and the city center is surrounded by greenery. On the Danube, you can use the green areas intended for recreation. The most famous lake is Aubad, with its beach and bathing area.
