The Vienna City Hall is a neo-Gothic building that serves as the workplace of the city council - both the mayor and the city council. In front of the building there is a town hall square, along which there are sculptures depicting people distinguished for Vienna.
Around the town hall is a beautiful park with numerous fountains, monuments and palm trees in pots.
The town's most popular ice rink is built in the town hall square in winter, while numerous film and music festivals are organized in summer.
The Vienna City Hall building is an inspiration for many other newer town hall buildings in Austria and abroad.
