Schonbrunn Palace

Local name: Schloß Schönbrunn

Located inside: Schoenbrunn Park

The palace was built in the 17th-18th century by order of the emperor Leopold I. It consists of 1441 chambers, of which 45 are open to the public. Maintained in the rococo style, it has 14 kt gold plated decorations and ornaments. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The emperor's living quarters and offices are simple and modest, while the representative rooms and guest rooms are characterized by wealth and splendor. Worth seeing is the Million Room, one of the most beautiful Rococo interiors in the world. The palace also has the Great Gallery, where they danced during the Congress of Vienna and the Mirror Hall, where, in turn, as a small child Mozart toured.

The palace is surrounded by a French-style garden with a palm house.
