Dajt is a town on the outskirts of Tirana, part of the metropolitan area of the Albanian capital. It is a popular resting place for the city's inhabitants, and due to the mountainous terrain and a large number of hiking trails, it is a good base for people who like active tourism.
The village is located at the foot of the Dajti Mountains, whose highest peak is 1613 m above sea level. The range is covered with forests and there are rock outcrops on the peaks. Throughout the area, which is under the protection of the national park, there are many hiking and walking paths.
The greatest attraction of the area is Mount Dajti, which is a great vantage point. At an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level, you can take the Dajti Express cable car. There is an observation deck and a hotel with a restaurant. There is also a road accessible to passenger cars. You can go on footpaths.
In Dajt you can take advantage of numerous picnic areas as well as jogging, hiking and roller skating areas. There is also the Dajti Adventure Park with climbing facilities. An interesting place is Bunk'art, a former Albanian authorities' fallout shelter, converted into an art gallery.
