Lauterbrunnen is a tourist destination in a wonderful alpine valley surrounded by peaks and steep rock walls. Within it, there are several dozen waterfalls that fall even from several hundred meters high. In winter, it is a large ski resort with great accommodation facilities.
The Lauterbrunnen valley with its wonderful landscapes is protected. Its biggest attraction is over 70 waterfalls, the most famous of which is the 300-meter Staubbachfall Waterfall. The Murrenbach Waterfall also makes a great impression, and the Trümmelbach Falls hidden behind a stone wall can be viewed from platforms carved in the tunnels.
The village is situated in the large Jungfrau ski area, the center of which lies on the slopes of the Jungfrau peak. In total, there are over 200 km of downhill ski runs of various levels of difficulty, snow parks, freeride routes and cross-country ski runs.
The Lauterbrunnen area is perfect for hiking. Well-groomed trails lead to the surrounding peaks, including the Schilthorn 2,970 m. Many of them can also be reached by cable cars, such as the Murren Schilthorn. The entire valley is also connected by the Kleine Scheidegg cable car, which allows you to reach the surrounding villages and the ski lifts area.
