Montalbano Elicona is a picturesque town whose old town is centered around the mighty Aragonese castle. Due to its location on the top of the hill, it is a great viewpoint over a large part of Sicily, including the famous Mount Etna.
The town is one of the most beautiful in Sicily. It occupies the top and the highest parts of the slopes of a 900-meter hill. Medieval houses stand one above the other, attached to a rocky slope.
