The history of the square dates back to the 12th century. It is surrounded on three sides by the most important monuments in the city, including the Clock Tower and the Baroque church. On one side, the square is open and provides a panoramic view of the bay, Mount Etna and the ruins of an ancient theater. There are numerous bars here, and you can often meet local artists.
