Wasserburg am Inn is a historic town with a picturesque old town and the remains of a city wall.
The city is situated on a tributary of the Danube, the River Inn. Its oldest part is situated in a bend and forms a peninsula squeezed between the river current. It is best to admire this place from the vantage point on the other side.
The center of the Old Town is surrounded by the market square. Next to it, there is the Gothic church of St. Jakub, and the entire Old Town complex is surrounded by the remains of defensive walls. One of the more interesting sights is the four-story Bruck Gate, as well as the 16th-century prince's castle.
The city is surrounded by wooded hills which are good for walks and hikes.
