Samerberg is a mountain resort in the Alps offering tourists the opportunity to relax amid picturesque landscapes and access to numerous hiking trails.
The town was established only in the 1970s from the amalgamation of several dozen small mountain settlements, sometimes consisting of several houses. For this reason, there is no compact development, and its individual parts form separate clusters, separated by several hundred meters, and sometimes even several kilometers.
The traditional buildings and numerous mountain farms that still breed dairy cattle have been preserved in Samerberg. The surrounding meadows are grazing areas, and tourists can watch herds grazing in the meadows during their trips.
The main attractions of Samerberg are related to the possibility of active tourism. The Hochriesbahn, which is connected by a combined gondola and chairlift, to the hills towering above the village is very popular. Not only is it a great vantage point, it also gives you the opportunity to start the hike not from a long ascent, but already on the ridge.
There is also the Filze peat bog in the vicinity of Samerberg. In the past, the area on which it is located was covered by the waters of the lake. Currently, it is an extremely picturesque and valuable natural area with a walking path on the piers. There is also the Filze natural swimming pool with a beach and jetties.
