Feldberg is a village in the Black Forest, lying at the foot of the highest peak of these mountains. It is a local tourist center, winter sports center and an excellent base for active tourism.
The village is located at an altitude of 1270 m above sea level. It is surrounded by forested peaks of the Black Forest. The highest of them, Feldberg has a height of almost 1500 m above sea level. On its top stands the Feldberg Tower, from which you can admire extensive panoramas, including Zugspitze, Eiger and even Mont Blanc.
The town is one of the most important winter resorts in the Black Forest. The Feldberg ski lift network is the largest ski resort in these mountains. There are over 60 km of perfectly prepared ski runs, toboggan runs and snowboard slopes. The resort also includes the Feldberg cable car, which can be reached to the highest peak in the area.
Feldberg also offers tourists many options for summer recreation. Some of the lifts operate throughout the year, so you can easily get to the nodes of the trails and higher walking routes. The popular Falkauer Waterfall is a popular destination for simple walking trips.
You can also visit the Nature Center Feldberg with exhibitions about the Black Forest. The Wichtelpfad Feldberg interactive nature trail is perfect for an active family holiday, where you can explore nature with the fictional hero Witchel Ferdynand during the transition. Adrenaline is also raised by the rope climbing park Feldberg.
