Local name: Zoo Basel

The zoo was the first of its kind to be established in Switzerland. The zoo was officially opened on July 3, 1874. There were bears, wolves, deer and water birds in the park. Currently, the garden is characterized by a large variety of animals and habitats. A big attraction is Gamgoas House, where lions, crocodiles and termites live.
