Bad Reichenhall is an Alpine health resort based on brine springs. It is also known for the production of Mozartkugel chocolates and an interesting museum for brewing salt.

The spa is located in a valley surrounded by mountains. Its surroundings are conducive to active tourism, above all hiking. There are many routes of varying lengths and difficulty. A popular destination is the Predigststuhl mountain, which can also be reached by the Predigtstuhl cable car.

Before Bad Reichenhall developed as a health resort, it was an important center for obtaining salt. It was evaporated from the brine springs here. Today, the history of mining and the ways in which salt was extracted can be discovered in the Old Salt Factory.

The brines produced in Bad Reichenhall are used primarily in medicine. There are the Bad Reichenhall graduation tower and the Wandelhalle graduation tower, and in the Royal Spa Garden there is the AlpenSole fountain - a fountain. Another public fountain is the Florianiplatz Fountain.

Bad Reichenhall and its surroundings also have some interesting sights to offer. In the center of the village stands the historic Church of St. Mikołaj, and above the buildings there is the 12th century Gruttenstein Castle, which now houses a hotel. Outside the city, you can see the neo-Gothic Marzoll Castle, in which the golf club is located. Right next to it is the late Baroque church of St. Valentine.
