Králíky is a small town situated in the hilly terrain above the Silent Eagle. The forested peak of Jerab rises here and is a popular destination for hiking and biking tours. Nice historic buildings have been preserved in the center, and there are many monuments of military architecture in the area.
The city was founded in the 14th century and it grew rich thanks to the nearby iron and silver mines. Mining was stopped in the 17th century, when the deposits were exhausted. From then on, Králíky was primarily of commercial importance.
In the 1930s, a fortification line was built in the event of German aggression near the city. It left behind bunkers and shelters, and to the north of the city, a Military Museum was created, where you can see the weapons and equipment of the Czechoslovak army from that period.
Thanks to the attractive, mountainous location and interesting buildings, Králíky is an attractive place for a trip combining active recreation and sightseeing. In the center you can see the historic church of St. Michael from the 16th century, and in the suburbs there is a baroque Sanctuary of Mount Mother of God with a church situated on a hill and the Way of the Cross.
