Ellmau is a village in the Austrian Alps, in Tyrol. It is part of one of the largest ski regions in Europe, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, which has almost 300 km of well-prepared ski slopes.

The village is located at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser massif, which in summer is a great place for hiking, while in winter it turns into a huge ski resort. There are over 90 lifts in 70 mountains, fun parks, toboggan runs and many other attractions waiting for skiers throughout the valley. Ellmau has a direct connection to the slopes, and has a wide range of accommodation and apres-ski.

For Austrians and Germans, Ellmau is not only a ski resort, but also the residence of Martin Gruber, a "mountain doctor" from the popular television series. The Hinterschnabl-Hof farm, where a nice doctor lived, is now visited by hundreds of tourists.
