The Hintertuxer Gletscher ski resort is located on the Tux Glacier. It is the only ski resort in Austria that operates throughout the year. Staff of many national winter sports, mainly skiing, train here.
The routes cover an area of 270 hectares, and the longest of them is 12 km long. 60% of routes are described as difficult (red) or very difficult (black), while 40% are easy (blue) routes. There are as many as 21 ski lifts throughout the facility, stretched at an altitude of 1500 to over 3200 meters.
In addition to winter sports, there are plenty of other attractions for visitors - including sleighs, paragliders, horse riding, ice skates or bowling on ice.
The village of Hintertuxer, in which the complex is located, is famous for the highest healing springs in Europe and the largest natural cave in the Central Alps, Spannagel.
