Seelisberg is a tourist destination on Lake Lucerne. On its territory is the Rütli Meadow, on which the first Swiss Confederation was established. The area abounds in hiking trails, and the proximity of lakes also allows you to relax by the water.

The town is situated on a peninsula on Lake Lucerne. About 400 m higher there is the small Seelisberg Lake with the Seelisberg Bathing Center. In summer, its waters warm to 24 degrees Celsius and are much warmer than Lake Lucerne below. There is a grassy beach on the shore, there is also a separate bathing area.

Lake Seelisberg, located above, can be reached by the Treib Seelisberg cog railway, which allows you to significantly save energy and time needed for the climb. Hiking trails through the surrounding forests start from the lake.

Lake Lucerne offers the possibility of water tourism. There are water equipment rentals, and a big attraction in Seelisberg is the Treib cruise.

For the Swiss, Seelisberg is of great importance as the place where the country's political history began. The Swiss Confederation was established in the Rütli meadow, as recalled by the historical exhibition.
