Wildnis Park Zurich Langenberg
Local name: Wildnispark Zürich Langenberg
Wildnispark Zürich Langender is a wildlife park with an area of over 80 hectares. About 18 animal species live here, including brown bears, lynxes, wolves, bison, deer, elk, as well as otters, beavers and marmots.
The park was created by forester Carl Anton Ludwig von Orelli in the late 1860s. According to the original assumption, it was to be a place where wild animals and plants would be protected (at that time, forests around Zyrych were cut down in connection with the development of industry). Orelli obtained the consent of the City Council, since then the park is constantly developing.
Tourists can see not only native species of animals, but also use the services of a local restaurant with a local menu. Initially, it was in an old farm building from the 19th century, but it was demolished and replaced with a new one.
